I too used to make this long time ago and had forgotten the recipe. Mixed and left all ingredients except flour in the morning, put in the fridge – came home 6 hours later mixed in the floor baked and loaf was delicious! Very easy, tasty and healthy!

Thanks, the Kellogs website used to have the recipe my mother always used but now it’s all bran muffins and even a chicken cassarole. But no allbran loaf, so thanks.

Thanks for this recipe. Was looking for the one I used to bake years ago that involved soaking the dry ingredients overnight in tea before adding the flour. Good for non-dairy-ites. Will try this recipe with tea. The tea adds a certain zing to the flavourand makes the cake lower in calories. I really enjoyed this cake though. A great hit with my grandsons.

Thank you. I’ve been looking for something without eggs to put in my egg-allergic son’s lunchbox. My mum reminded me that the bran loaf she used to make in the 80s had no eggs in, so I looked this up. It is perfect and so easy to make!

  9. Peter says:

The early All Bran packets had a recipe for All Bran Buns. Never been able to find it but I imagine the cake recipe is the same. I will try it and make individual small cakes.

Brilliant! I’ve been looking for a recipe for ages like the one that used to be on the Kellog’s packet, i.e., in cup measure rather than weight.
    Thank you!

I baked this recipe last night but just used half a cup of dark brown sugar instead of a whole cup. Tastes amazing and about a third of the calories! Yum!

I used to make this all bran loaf using the recipe I had cut from a cereal box. A few months ago I went to find the recipe and couldn’t. I hae searched the Kellogs website to no aail and tonight hae just “googled” all bran loaf and there it is! This recipe is so easy and so healthy haing no fat in it.(Sorry my keyboard has a faulty key- the letter which comes after U.) Must away and get my all bran soaking!

  15. I am rubbish at baking, but remembered this recipe from my childhood. Popping to S……..y to buy all ingredients. Lovely with cup of tea and Wimbledon on a rainy afternoon

My Mother made this every week for my Stepfather -kept him ‘reglar’ she said. Searched the house for the recipe to no avail but found a Mary Berry one which is similar. Served it up in Village Hall and now everyone wants the recipe.

  17. I was just telling my daughter about this recipe earlier tonight and said that I’d lost it but wish I could find it again as it was lovely and had a slightly malty taste from the all bran, a real blast from the past as my Mother made it for years then I took over….thank-god for Google lol
